Learn how to make experimental wet cyanotypes from start to finish and use common objects and everyday chemicals to create unique paper and fabric prints.

  • Watch demonstrations of different ways to use the ‘wet’ cyanotype process and then try these out using your own or provided materials.
  • Explore the printing process in a supportive and experimental environment.
  • Set up, make and develop your own prints to bring home afterwards.

Usually made on dry sensitised paper, in this Extended Cyanotypes workshop you’ll explore making experimental ‘wet’ cyanotypes. In the creative and supportive environment of a small group, watch the process being done, handle several examples and then try the process for yourself.

Our Extended Cyanotypes workshop is designed so everyone can participate at whatever level suits them. The process is experimental so there is no right or wrong. No former experience is needed to create surprising and beautiful outcomes using cyanotype chemicals combined with everyday materials such as turmeric, salt and beetroot juice.
